Jean Owen, founder of NJ Fix My Dog, is a nationally recognized professional trainer and sought-after speaker. She has been featured multiple times at the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) annual conference, presenting to trainers from across the country.
She has also been invited to speak at major national events on dog-to-dog communication, behavior, and public safety, including presentations on dog park safety and canine social dynamics.

Our WTC - 9/11 Therapy Dog work
Alongside two of her dogs, Piper and GG, Jean volunteered daily at the World Trade Center Family Crisis Center as part of a leading therapy dog team in the months following September 2001.

President of a NYC dog park:
Jean spent 14 years as President and Training Consultant for a 400 member only off leash dog community in downtown Manhattan.
Agility and Obedience Competitor
Nationally ranked in agility and obedience since 1999, Jean competes at the elite Masters level with her dogs. In 2026, she is proud to campaign one of the top ranked (#4 and climbing) agility Miniature American Shepherds in the United States.
